EcoDevelopments launches Mixed-Use Ecovillage project in the Boston Neighborhood of Jamaica Plain,
September 2006
Ecodevelopments officially kicked off their new Boston-area project in the popular Boston neighborhood of Jamaica Plain with a well attended "Ecovillage at JP" event. Over 50 interested people enthusiastically participated in an interactive discussion with Ecodevelopments principals Patti Lautner, Chris ScottHansen, and Stew Mayer, about the many features of the transit-oriented ecovillage including both commercial and residential spaces. Among the ideas discussed that gained a lot of excitement and positive response at the meeting included incorporating multiple residential neighborhoods, possible community-based commercial participants, and many types of green sustainable features that can included in the development

EcoDevelopments partners on Boston adaptive reuse
November 2003
EcoDevelopments LLC has been retained to consult on the Lawrence Ecovillage project, a proposed adaptive reuse of 130,000 square feet of a historic brick textile mill building in the Boston area. The project will maintain and upgrade the exterior brick and will build out 100 one- to four-bedroom homes including 25 artist live/work spaces. The proposed ecovillage is adjacent to a new $21 million MBTA (Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority) train station allowing the community members to commute into Boston without needing to own a car.
Events
February 2007
A “visioning” workshop is scheduled for February 3rd for owners-to-be in the newly-established EV@JP cohousing community. The workshop, presented by Kraus-Fitch Architects of Amherst MA, is specially designed to enable participants to better integrate with Ecodevelopments staff in the design and planning of the mixed-use project.
